If you can, check out the next School Library Journal webcast on February 25, 2010, 2pm to 3pm eastern standard time. Brie Edmonds Ashton, Harlequin Marketing Manager will be one of the panelist that will discuss the newest and hottest books for young adult readers. The webcast is free and interested librarians, teachers and parents can register for this event at: School Library Journal Webcast. I attended the first webcast a couple of months ago and enjoyed the presentation by Kimani Tru's Glenda Howard, Executive Editor. I really enjoy reading the Kimani Tru books because young African-American readers can relate to the real-life situations that are described in each story. The books aren't too preachy or naive but instead are cautionary tales that teens today need.
